How to Become a Member of the DSABC
Joining the DSABC is relatively simple. Every high school or middle school in B.C., public or private, has the right to join. Membership gives a school the right to participate in DSABC sponsored tournaments. Memberships belong to schools, not to individuals. Individuals do not have to pay membership fees.
The DSABC is a not-for-profit organization with members that are schools as defined by the Ministry of Education. Private tutoring companies or after-school academies are not eligible to become members of the DSABC. We encourage these types of organizations to connect with local schools and to help debate grow in those schools.
The first year of membership for a school costs $100. Subsequent memberships cost $200 per year.

Schools with 4 or fewer debaters are allowed to pay a discounted membership of $100. They are asked to list all debaters on the application form and only those debaters will be able to participate in DSABC events. If the number of debaters in the club increases to 5 or higher during the year, the school must pay the additional $100 membership or those new individuals will not be able to participate in DSABC events.
